A birthday letter to my Mom..

Birthday's were always such a big deal to you.
It is the number one reason I make the boys birthday's such a big deal in my home.
Ironically, you hate having your birthday made into such a big deal, which is NOT a trait I got from you.  (insert giggle and a reminder that my birthday is two months away)

But I need to make a little noise on this birthday.  You are turning 60.
(insert birthday horn noise here x)

You are my best friend Mom.
Words I never thought I would hear myself utter because of how much of a block head I used to be arguing with you that I knew everything.
Turns out.  You were right. 
Your stubbornness drives me batty.
But that stubbornness is contagious, ask my husband.
Your inability to keep your opinion to yourself hurts my head sometimes, but you always know where you stand with you.  And I envy that straight forwardness.

I want to whisper to you and thank you. 
And then tell you that I love you.

I thought about creating a list of 60 reasons why you are the bestest Mom ever, but figured that my sisters would just try to say I was being a kiss ass, so I will only name a few.  (keep your comments to yourself dear sisters mwah!!!)

I love your phone calls that can never be just a second.

I love how you always have chocolate chip cookies in your fridge.

I love how no matter how many times I tell you I don't need you to buy me anything, you always say "But Kim, it was like $.50 cents"

But mostly, I want to say that..
Birthdays are time to celebrate life.
And your life is sooooo worth celebrating. 
Ask any of your nine grandsons!!

And last but not least.. (and only you, Amy and Jenny will understand this.. )
